The United States of America is a federal republic with a population of approximately 300 million people.
Since my first visit in 2000, I have found the countries and peoples of The US and Australia, to be very similar, as is their relevant
size, as shown below.
As noticeable as the similarities are the differences between the two countries. For example, to see advertising for cigarettes prominently displayed in public, many years after such advertising was banned in Australia really makes it stand out.

After over 3½ years living in the U.S. I can safely say the biggest difference
I found between the fine folk of the United States and Australians is that our new American neighbors take themselves and life far too seriously!
